I've reviewed your request and you failed to provide more specific information. You failed to explain the reason why he's so "legendary." If you want to resubmit, expand your article and include his significance and reread the Wikipedia criteria.

Just offering what I hope is some help. The relevant section of Wikipedia guidelines is WP:PROF. If you look it specifies the criteria that an article on an academic needs to satisfy to be considered notable. QU TalkQu 12:21, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Since Wikipedia has pages devoted to scientists whose work depend heavily on Ling's work, I thought I would contribute with an article about him. Writing in English (not my native language), following Wikipedia style guidelines and finding references is hard enough for me, I don't really have time to waste trying to comply with complex bureaucratic regulations. I obviously made a mistake proposing my article, feel free to delete my pages and account. Regards. Wyrdfire

I can understand why you would feel like that and personally I agree that Ling appears to meet the general notability guidelines - five minutes of searching led me to four academic papers that cited his work for example. I do think that in this case the review of your proposed article incorrectly declined it and I would encourage you to resubmit it. However, as I said I can understand why you would feel you are wasting your time. QU TalkQu 22:43, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've taken it on myself to add the details I located and resubmit for review QU TalkQu 22:58, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
